How do you tune them ?

 

great set of ears out there for sure. Just finished setting up the wife's Tahoe with a whole new antenna system using a new 4' SS. Now it's time to play with a new project on my truck. I'll be putting it against another 4' SS, a Browning BR-28, and a P10K. I'll explain more in a future thread and post results. Could be next weekend before I can get it all done. Either way, it looks like you'll be doing good out there!

 

Just cause its on the net doesnt mean its true..People tell storys without giveing all the facts....Like 1 guy that has a rear cab wall mounted big coil ant reachin all over usa on a connex....After awhile it was hooked to a 1800 watt amp...Without it 7-8 miles..lol

 

On those i notice even the fibreglass ant at highway speed barely more..Must be the way the air flows around the trk.

That's pretty bad when the 1800 watt amplifier can't keep up with the barefoot 45-mile Cobra 29.

 

Since he likely steps on everyone around him and splatters over a dozen channels, he’s happy.

‘a course his Mama always has to go thru his stuff to get them big ol’ red granny panties back. So, you know who is our hero is when he’s sans culottes and back on the air. So sad.

 

Ok so I'm still fairly new at this CB stuff and I was wondering if there vets could help me out.... I'm getting into a 2019 T680 with the 52inch sleeper. I currently have a 7' skipshooter (might order another one)I considering installing to replace the factory antennas that came with the truck. Should I get a different kind of mount for the antenna or could I get away with the stock mount that's already on the truck?? If so what kind of mount should I get?? I do have a pvc pipe for stability (I learned that from @craig_sez) I'm open to any and all suggestions.... One concern I do have is that the antenna towers over the truck itself. (I put it on just to see how it'll look).

 

I had very good luck in a 2020 and a 2019 T680 using factory wiring and 2 5 foot firestick adjustable tip antennas.

 

I would build the new mount from scratch out of a piece of quarter inch stainless steel
