I ran up through Snoqualamie a few times and had to take the WA-18 west into Auburn. It's a two way highway with lots of steep hills and heavy truck and 4 wheel traffic. I seemed a little nerve racking the way I remember...
BUMBACLADWAR and D.Tibbitt Thank this. -

best question i can ask is how heavy is your load?BUMBACLADWAR and x1Heavy Thank this.
-
Done now and picking up my ticket out of here, but...
The load was 44,700. I don’t recall any posted grades on the WB side, but it seemed to me like a long 5 percent. -
This time of year I'd much rather run heavy than light. Traction and crosswinds are why.
jeff18, BUMBACLADWAR, snowlauncher and 2 others Thank this. -
Totally agree. Last month I deadheaded I-84 along from Portland to Pasco with some wind gusts. That was NOT fun!D.Tibbitt, BUMBACLADWAR, otherhalftw and 1 other person Thank this.

Steeper than that is my recollection. There is a snowshed you will be entering for a while.

That drive through the gorge can be the worst especially in winter, between the winds and the ice....UGLY!!!D.Tibbitt and BUMBACLADWAR Thank this.

I deadheaded from Boise to Portland 2 days ago. So windy apparently some Power lines and truck "Blew Over" by Pendleton. Closed I -84 for a while.D.Tibbitt, otherhalftw and Odin's Rabid Dog Thank this.
