Transmission issue DT12

    Hey guys
    From time to time when I’m trying to put the transmission into drive or reverse nothing happens and it just beeps at me
    It only happens when the weather is cold… And if the truck sits for 10 or 15 hours
    Sometimes when I’m in reverse and try to put the truck into neutral, once I turn the shifter selector button to neutral it stays in reverse and check engine light comes on
    The code is SPN 525 FMI 7
    It goes away by itself in 3 to 5 seconds and then it shifts into neutral

    any ideas?

    If your truck is a 2014 - 2016, it will probably need a split pin bushing. That was a problem with early DT12.

    Theres some kind of "required maintenance" on these auto shifts,sometimes involving removing shifter case and adjusting crap. If I recall some cheaply made parts in there get broken easy. Fluids probably too thick at first. JMO

    These transmissions rely on clean dry air,
    Should be changing air drier cartridge yearly. Moisture in the air system is not good on the little passages and valves trying to shift the truck. More than likely moisture in the air system. Not bashing you but I don’t know why people let the air system go on trucks. So easy to stay on top off.
