Just wondering how everyone feels about the outbreak/possible pandemic. What precautions, if any, are you guys and gals taking? What precautions are the truckstops taking? As we all know, truckstops (especially showers and restrooms) are not always the cleanest places.

I'm still driving motorcoaches doing private charters, and usually have from 30-50 people on my bus at any given time, but I have to think that, overall, truckers, and especially regional/otr drivers, are exposed to a wider variety of people and facilities than I am.

Still, to say I'm not concerned would be a lie, and I am thinking about carrying Clorox wipes and hand sanitizer with me.

I am taking pre cautions by not going to loves. After all the flip flop people finish blowing their snot rockets in the sink and washing their feet , it is much worse things than coronavirus in that place

Kind of getting ahead of yourself, aren't you? Until we get an appreciable outbreak(in USA), which probably won't happen till next winter, no concern. Besides by then new information may come to light about precautionary measures. Till then, yawn. Just another flu bug.

The thought of that kind of stuff is what made me decide, after contemplating a return to trucking, of staying in the bus business...lol

CDC announced yesterday to expect "Community Spread" of the virus will happen here and to be prepared for "severe" disruptions.

“As we’ve seen from recent countries with community spread, when it has hit those countries, it has moved quite rapidly. We want to make sure the American public is prepared,” Nancy Messonnier, director of CDC’s National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases, told reporters.

“As more and more countries experience community spread, successful containment at our borders becomes harder and harder,” she said.

Heard on the radio that prom and wedding dresses are in a shortage right now because the bulk of it comes from China. Just a little snippet of all that this pandemic touches.
