If the spoon doesn't melt when you stir it, it ain't coffee. Lol.

 

I mean I’d try it for the hell of it but I’d never use it regularily. Isn’t there meth somewhere in that?

 

Yep, same here. There isn’t much better than a good cup of joe. Especially the first cup of the day, the way it hits the brain with that nice fuzzy wake up sensation.

 

did you folks calculate out what you PAY for a LB of coffee ???

Let's compare the expenses of a K-Cupper versus a regular Coffee Potter over the course of a year, using Starbucks' recommendation of using two tablespoons of ground coffee for a six fluid ounce cup:

2 tablespoons ground coffee = 10 grams. We have a 1 lb. bag, which is 453 grams.

That means we get 45 six-ounce cups out of that one bag (453/10).

If you drink a cup a day, you would go through a little over eight bags a year (365 days/45 cups), amounting to $95 spent on coffee (8 bags*$11.95, the cost of 1 lb. Starbucks house blend bag).

Consuming the equivalent amount in K-Cups adds up to $400 a year (8 lbs*$50, the average price per pound of K-Cup coffee), over four times as much.

Let's be real — most of us are probably drinking more coffee than that. The Huffington Post recently reported that the average American consumes 2.1 cups per day, putting our numbers at $190 per year for the Coffee Potters and $800 for the K-Cuppers.

I've had an Aicok K-cup coffee maker in my truck or over 2 years and use it a lot. Sells at Amazon for $37. Bought one for my wife to use at work, also. It's compact, takes about 3 minutes to brew a cup with my 2000 watt inverter, not bolted down and rides nicely.

 

We used a Mr. Coffee 8 cup when we had a Cascadia. We secured it to one of the shelves with industrial strength Velcro and never had a problem as long as we used a mini bungee to hold the pot in while in motion. When we got a business class freightliner with a 96" bunk with a real countertop, we up graded to a 12 cup model and still used the Velcro to secure it to the counter. That truck rode smooth enough to not require the bungee to hold the pot. We could brew coffee going down the road

 

I haven't revived a dead thread in a long time so here it goes. Lol. I love my keurig. I buy the 96 ct Columbian for $28 pods from Sam's and 3 pods in the morning makes and at less than half the price. Start the first pod as I wake up and the second before my pretrip and the third halfway through my pretrip. No mess from throwing away a filter full of grounds. I run mine on an 1800 watt inverter. No problems at all. BTW, I used to use the Walmart brand Columbian pods and tried the Sam's brand. My family all thought the Sams was better so I weighed both on my mixing scale. I forgot the exact amount but it was substantial, confirming why the Sam's pods tasted better.

 

Wife uses these. Buys the big can of instant. The reusable pod is good for a quart of coffee.

I'm not really allowed to drink Coffee, Tea or any Colas because the caffeine interferes with my anti-seizure meds. I do drink some decaffeinated coffee from time to time. Back in my trucking days when I did drink coffee I just filled up at the counter. Most of the time it was free with 50 gallons of diesel purchase. Today I have one of these things, but to be honest I can't tell much difference between this and regular brewing Folgers coffee with filtered water. Here in Hampton Roads, the tap water is horrible.
