Old army truck. Fire dept I was on bought one to make a tanker/brush rig out of.
Winch was used to pick up trailers.
Military used them to transport tanks and such over long distances.

Yeah i forgot about that. The military had laydown neck lowboys rather than RGNs since us jarheads werent smart enough to work a detach. So the cable hooks the neck and pulls it up onto the tail roller. Think i only saw one or two.Eldiablo, cke, jamespmack and 3 others Thank this.

I think the tops of the 112 hoods were a bit more rounded than that....Eldiablo, cke, jamespmack and 4 others Thank this.

2010 Freightliner FLD120 Military - govdeals.com
See if this works. This is exactly what it was I saw, but repainted white, & a claimed '06. Had the auto inflate/run flat set up on there too..
This on says 2010, fld120, has a 12.7l no-egr!
I could be wrong about the 1 I saw being ddec v, maybe not a 14L either..? Heck, guy was a Indiana dot worker, looked like a snow removal guy. Might not have even really known what he had there under the hood..
See the sticker on the dash, Hearing protection required over 40mph!! I've been feeling like mines gonna make me deaf in a few years..

Been there as long as I been driving. Stopped there back when it was just 40/48 before I-68 ever came to be. Use to be pretty good home cooking, stopped but haven’t eaten there in a few years now....MACK E-6, singlescrewshaker, Eldiablo and 7 others Thank this. -
The hubs were always my favorite. Where’s the job site at?OLDSKOOLERnWV, singlescrewshaker, Eldiablo and 6 others Thank this.

Need a orange traffic cone on each side by the bumper, no wait..... that would probably be a magnet.....

Needs back protection at any speed. Note the walking beam stack. Hitting a real pothole at 60+ would be a chiropractors jackpot.
Looking close at that one its pretty much what i expected. A hodgepodge of the two usual offerings. The offroad parts and auto trans common to the AM general m39 and the road tractor cab and engine.
I always felt the 6x6 engine choices were pretty sad. Multifuels and Cummins 250. 6CTA being the later and more desireable but still a dog in that big of a truck. Think of an international 4900 tria axle log truck with dt466, fully loaded pulling a pup behind it. Thats about how peppy mil trucks were.
They all shoulda had detroits imo.OLDSKOOLERnWV, singlescrewshaker, Eldiablo and 4 others Thank this.
