Bob, forum rules forbid you from providing links. You can say try searching on walmart private fleet.
Now does each DC serve x amount of stores? Does each have it's specialty? In FL, they have three and I do not get the point of that.

Go on Google and search for the corporate site, not the store site. This should help you some.

Oops, I just woke up and haven't had enough coffee. My bad.

Yes, each DC serves X amount of stores and there are 3 types;
1 - General merchandise; Non-grocery dry freight
2 - Grocery/Remix; Groceries and fast selling items such as paper towels, laundry detergent, soda pop, dog food, etc.
3 - Fashion/Dot Com; Shoes, Clothing and online orders. This warehouse is called a WPM and does not deliver to stores, only to other warehouses. -
does walmart pay their drivers well? how much? how many miles do you average a week?

Nevada_Bob,
Excellent post and thank you for the information. Does Walmart publish a list of where each type of DC is located? I live in Viera, FL and see units coming from Brooksville (2hrs away), Fort Pierce (1hr away), Alachua (2hrs away), and SC.

Kinghunter,
There are 6 DC's in Florida.
3 general merchandise DC's, Brooksville, Alachua, and Ft. Pierce
3 grocery DC's, Winter Haven, MacClenny, and Arcadia
Ft. Pierce services stores from Melbourne to Florida City (s. of Miami), and on the west coast Naples north to Sarasota.
Brooksville primarily does Tampa to Orlando and Ocala south to Sarasota
Alachua does Ocala north and on the east coast from Jax to New Smyrna bch.
Arcadia does south stores, Winter Haven, central stores and MacClenny does North storescentral fla Thanks this. -

You can go to google and put in www.drive4walmart.com then go about halfway down the page where it says download driver app. They do not take paper apps anymore. Good Luck

Bob how about an update? We are scheduled to build a D.C. here in Merced,CA. this year. Could be a great opportunity for me. I need to get "OTR" miles and experience first. I've had my CDL since 98 but always worked local.
