Arkansas
Local Health Authority
Authority. The director of the Department of Health has control over all quarantine measures. The state Health Board establishes rules and regulations regarding quarantine and isolation. County or district health departments have the power and duty to establish and enforce quarantine or isolation when it is necessary for public health. Cities can create health boards and appoint a health officer, with jurisdiction five miles beyond city limits in the event of a quarantine for an epidemic. Both county and city health authorities must assist state Department of Health and the Health Board. Only the state director can implement a quarantine on movement between jurisdictions.

Unfortunately, this malady has become a highly charged political football worldwide. It is almost impossible to separate the hyperbole from the facts because of it. I go by the findings from independent sources like THIS ONE. I say this because even the CDC seems to have merged this into some political areas.

In regards to information that is relatively updated, I follow one news site in Arkansas and Zero Hedge online. Our own Senator Cotton has been a warrior about this outbreak as well.
Currently today we are monitoring 11 souls at home in Arkansas but until new test kits come in (There are #### few of them from CDC) we don't know for sure if they have it or not.
What I get from most common broadcasting across the USA is that they seem determined to either have a agenda against our President or they seem determined to fail to update anyone in their states about anything related to Coronavirus.
Hawaii is experiencing fear and making a run on products like toilet paper. Some stores there are rationing people to just 5 rolls of the stuff. We have bales in a closet for about a years worth or more. So no worries there. -
I think it'll turn out like SARS. Where people live like sardines, more will die because there are more 'compromised' (weak, old, etc) in the vicinity. Where people have more personal space, hardly anyone will die because you'll have less chance of coming into contact with an infected person.
Asia (China, Japan, India and nearby outlying areas) will have more deaths. Europe will follow a distant second with America, Australia and Russia holding up the low end.
These 'outbreaks' are great for culling the herd. Momma knows when you're trying to cram 10lbs of #### (people) into a 5lb bag and she nicks the seam a little to relieve the pressure.D.Tibbitt Thanks this. -
I know this sounds heartless. But you must look at the mortality rate per thousands of people. China has the largest population I think followed by India. 2% of China's population might be 100 million folks. In the US its closer to 6 million. This flu does not yet have a high mortality rate. As I posted earlier. Over 50 thousand die each year because of flu or flu-like illnesses. I'm confident they will find a treatment.
Be concerned. I am. But get good information and stop listening to fear mongers. This flu is serious. It is VERY highly contagious. Its also spreading and will hit the US. It is only a matter of time. Yes, its going to kill in the US. No I refuse to believe it will become like Ebola. It will make you sick. You will feel like heck. If you are not very old or sick already you should be OK.Last edited: Feb 29, 2020

Just saw the first person wearing a mask, at Poarch Truckstop in Atmore Al. Wife wants to spend $160 on 3, advertised on the Internet. I say, NO Way, I’d rather take my chances, spend the $160 on a stock that’s currently down. The debate continues. The fact that it could be spreading now, without knowing yet, is concerning. I’m a doubting Thomas, no need to panic, yet. Y2K, The polar reversal,WW3, SARS, What worries Me more is People’s mentality, when driven by fear. A pending snow storm, and they’re fighting over bread and water. Had a Guy try to steal one gallon of drinking water, from my wife in line at grocery once. She had 3 gallons, he had about 20 gallons, but wanted 1 more. Hmmmm that’s worrisome. Panic is a very dangerous thing. The only thing that concerns Me, about this situation.

I'm with you on the panic front. Virginia has already reported some stores with bare shelves caused by the fear mongering media. And the wife has bought into it wholesale. My flippant attitude about the situation really annoys her, too.

2019
This was the scare list of 2019....
The media hypes everything for clicks....
Just like we never see snow flurries, it's always snow showers now.
My gals kids were off school for 2 days. All over 4 inches of snow that fell over a 26 hour period.
I came home yesterday, and could still see grass....everything is hyped. Nanny State...keep you afraid of your shadow.D.Tibbitt, Rocks, Muddydog79 and 1 other person Thank this.
