Swift lease truck turn in?

The reconditioning fee I agree with. You picked up the truck like new, they're going to put a good detail on it.

Anything that's broken or damaged they're going to fix or replace.

The other per day fee......well you agreed to it.

 

and in theory, it can be a very LOOONG time, till it gets leased out, especially IF they find any mechanical issues with it, waiting for parts, etc,etc.

one's gotta read what one's gonna sign....

 

Good Lord, $511 a week you have to pay Swift until they lease the truck back out to someone else? Who on earth would agree to terms like this? Sounds like this is going to be an expensive lesson. If you signed a contract with this BS in it, you're probably stuck.

The only advice I can give is to make better decisions in the future.

 

The HUGEST mistake guys make in this game is the shiny new EXPENSIVE truck.

And why do they make this mistake? They don't have the experience to be attempting something like this in the first place. Maybe 1 out of 100 does.

That big truck payment, big insurance payment, takes a lot of shine off of that new truck.

They listen to bs, rather than having their own practical experience.

Wait till they drive a truck with 1.5 million on it lol. What they find out is it pretty much does the same thing as the one with 15 miles on it.

 

hurry up and file bankruptcy.

 

they can still find something wrong.

a scratch, a dent, a burnt out light bulb, whatever.

also, if they go by order, that truck could go to the end of the lease line, not to the front.

you will still be paying something.

 

see the thing is, you are an unknown quantity with the lease.

here, i have now leased 3 cars from Toyota.

i used to worry about a scratch myself, but ya know what?

with a proven track record with toyota, i just turn in the car, and get another one, and drive away.

i even turned in my last car with 4 payments left.

didn't get tacked onto my new car, didn't get a bill for the balance, just drove off in my new car, with a new lease.

if you had been a lease operator more than once with the same company, you'd have been considered a "known quantity" , and just get into a new one, and drive away.

but, here you just up and left due to your breaking of the lease.

they can go an do a full detail inside and out, you're gonna be paying

they can go do a DOT inspection, you're gonna be paying

anything is possible when you break a lease, no matter if the truck just came off the assembly line, and you were there to drive it off, or if the the truck had 500,000 miles on it.

companies are serious about breaking contracts. especially when they are in the leasing business, rather than the hauling business.

file personal bankruptcy now, and they cannot come after you for those daily fee's.

but check with a bankruptcy lawyer first.
