For anyone running in to the same issue and came across this thread, I got a callback from Sysco. They said they don't care if you can't drive a manual. Most of their city trucks are autos. Also for any veterans out there, KLLM, Abilene Motor Express and Western Express do not offer the GI Bill Apprenticeship program.

KLLM Academy in Jackson MS is somehow done through Hinds County Community College. I had to enroll there and got a certificate of completion from them.

They still test people out in manuals there.

Going to their school without a permit requires signing 1yr contract with a non compete clause. Breaking the contract, there’s like a $4k charge that is supposedly prorated by like $80 a week. Based on how many weeks you completed with KLLM.

With a permit saves 1k, but not sure if it decreases contract length.

We had a few people join second week that were called refreshers. Not sure on their exact details or what qualified then for that. They must’ve still had CDLs but no recent experience because they were never put on test schedules.

Their contracts were 6mos and 2k prorated. Only had to do 3 weeks with a trainer before going solo. (New grads have to do 6 weeks).

Thank god for Mississippi. =) Ive gotten used to that state as there were alot of work in and out of there in my time. In OTR trucking. Gulfport is one where we visit regularly.

California they are not. They take liberties that take some getting used to.
