I was wondering if you’d found this yet. Notwithstanding the permit issue here, you think he’s got a suitable setup for that, enough axles and spacing, etc?cke Thanks this.

I was on the final mile of my delivery last week and the trusty GPS had me turning off the state route onto HASKINS RD for .7 miles to my connector, which was directly next to my Consignee.
Made the L at the light and about 100ft up the road was a NO TRUCKS over 34k sign.
IM ALREADY THERE.. and 79,500lbs.
That's 43,500lbs OVER
SHEEESH !
It's only .7 mile... maybe I get local delivery clearance.
.3 into it the road started looking more residential and I saw an opportunity to bang a U-ey at a huge wide spot.
I took it.
Immediately found another route in on a full state route that I had already passed by.
Gotta check... all the way to the last 1/2 mile. -
it is very likely that with a permit he could have permitted the weight.beastr123, booley, cke and 1 other person Thank this.

He has plenty of axles. That is most likely a 960 or 980 chassis. Those weigh somewhere around 140-150K depending on how many parts are left on after disassembly.not4hire, cke, MACK E-6 and 1 other person Thank this.

What do yall reckon the permits cost?
Do you suspect this is someone just trying to outlaw it with no permit at all, or a case of having the wrong permit with a stickler cop trying to say a hair out of place nullifies the whole mullet?
I have a hard time thinking someone who can even hitch that up and get out of the first turn is a full idiot. I probably couldnt get the brakes released.650cat425, Mototom, cke and 1 other person Thank this. -
The story I read said they broke down in Saskatoon and brought another truck to get it off the highway. In the process of moving it they got stopped and their permit was voided because of the wrong power unit under the load.LoneCowboy, Tug Toy, Ruthless and 8 others Thank this. -
So typical govt then. Some good guys are trying to make a living and we're here to shove it up someones ### until they quit and depend on us for EBT benefits.
Tug Toy, Gearjammin' Penguin, Mototom and 1 other person Thank this. -
Here in Saskatchewan if you have a permit in hand, carry the licence plate off the broke down power unit and notifiy the permit office by phone and get a confirmation number then the permit can be temporally transferred. I am surprised that a Sask based heavy haul outfit not know about the breakdown system.

Oh, I'm sure they know. I'll bet someone decided it was too much trouble.
Last time I had to get a SK permit it took about 10 minutes on the phone. They gave me a number and I was good.beastr123 Thanks this.
