Jesus worked in sandals. And reminds us to judge not...
Proverbs 13:10 tells us where there is strife there is pride. And i think the thread demonstrates that pretty clearly.
A human with the wrong shoes is comparable to swine? You drivin a truck or an ivory tower? This 4 wheeler world treats drivers like peasants and slaves so i dont figure how wearing boots makes yall act like youre senators. Does your boots make that no parking sign disappear? Do they pay you detention when they hear about your button up shirt over the phone? Is your time suddenly more respected at the steel mill, grocery warehouse, DC or weigh station? The world treats us like crap, like convicts to shoe away after we deliver their widgits. I dont find it shocking that some of us have accepted looking and feeling like it too.

I've been long enough at this way of life to agree with you that it is harder to take pride in what we do and who we are. I find myself rather uncomfortable and uneasy, more often than not, to reveal that I drive a truck for a living.
The stigma of lowlifes is all too common and the sad part is that all of us are gauged by the same measure. So the question to ask is what the most important reason for that perception is.
Do general population think of us so low because we do not wear certain types of clothing while driving trucks, which flip flops and track pants could be the least problem anyway, or the way we behave.
A guy was shot over a parking lot quarrel, the other week. That's how they see us. -
Just hope you never have to make a emergency egress while wearing flips or sandals.
Your feet will save your life.

Why do you care what other people think? If you're making good money and enjoy the job then I don't see a problem.

A track suit might help you run faster, but then its probably equalled out with the flip flopz

Doesn't sound like good money to me from what I've gathered off his other posts. $1.09 from PA back to Elk Grove Village, Illinois...Tall Mike Thanks this.

Fir self esteem, if nothing else.
We live among people who are not in trucking and I believe it somewhat matters what the overall image of a truck driver is, if you do this for a living. Your wife says, my husband drives a truck, your child says my dad drives a truck. I would like them not be embarrassed when they say that.Odin's Rabid Dog, Tb0n3 and BigDog Trucker Thank this. -
Personally I don't care what people wear out of their TT or at the truck stop. However, idiots wearing flip flops while driving are just that idiots. They get caught on the peddle, they break, they slide off...etc. I could go on for an hour listing all the dumb for driving with them on. I'd much rather the driver drive barefoot than wear Flip flops.
Heck, wear flip flops, a pink tutu and coconut bra with leather cheek-less chaps as far as I care walking around. Just not while you are driving on the road with me. Please.
Is there a link between flip flops and car crashes?Wargames and BigDog Trucker Thank this. -
I hate being barefoot. I’ve never had any fungus either. I think it’s because I wash my feet.Muddydog79 and tscottme Thank this.
