pretty sure they do 1000/mile yearly limits for out of state non compliant trucks (or a single trip permit, maybe)

either way if you wanna chance it there’s plenty of routes into SoCal where you won’t cross a scale let alone a “pollution checkpoint”

This was my understanding of it. Maybe there is more to it, but I stop looking once I found this..

The money in my case has never been there, so I've never went. If something good pops up, I'd like to be able to capitalize on the situation. If it ever does come up, you will be getting a PM about some routing.. ;)

We fill out a paper every year that in the past allowed like 1000 miles. I think this year it was for going into the ports instead.

Frankly I’d just drive in. I have seen no evidence of them checking trucks unless you get pulled over to a random emissions test in the LA area. What can they really tell an out of state truck? I came back to the mid west from California 8 years ago. I know how to play there game. July 2018 was the last time I was there. I’ve been there 3 other times in my truck before that too. Never any questions about my truck age or idleing.

Well there you go you got the info right there. Again no one has ever asked me anything about nothing.

that makes more sense....... don’t know why I thought mileage mattered.

If you’re going to LA just run 40. Won’t cross a single scale the whole way in.

It's ok grasshopper, you'll be fine you're living in the age of anxiety, breathe in. Breathe out. Nothing to achieve. Nothing to avoid. When you stop looking...then she appears. But look anyway, the practice will do you good

Good to know. I love the drive heading west, yet have never made it past las Vegas. I keep hearing from others if your going to go past i35, might as well go all the way to CA. Better chance for a reload..

Lots of hype too about the enforcement out there.. Leaves me a little gun shy, yet something about them barring my truck from entering only makes me want go.. :D
