Company Driver to IC

Absolutely. That would set red lights off everywhere. I linked on to this four year old thread today. I went through and followed every post. It was captivating, like a reality show. it was like binge watching a series on Netflix. I’d like to stay in touch with you if you don’t mind. I live in South Jersey near Pedricktown. I applied to QC last year but ended up taking a job somewhere else. As you know there are refineries all over this area. Most of the big tanker companies have terminals here. I’m thinking about signing on with one of these guys. This thread was very informative. If you don’t mind, I’d like to be able to reach out to you in case I have any questions.

 

Johnny I will say pedricktown has a good bit of work right now.... not sure what the merger is going to bring on but I've seen more work since it started. I'm company now but will probably go IC in the next few years.

 

I appreciate the input. Buddy of mine works at a refinery in Paulsboro. They’re working crazy overtime right now because they’re so busy. I looked at Prime. They say they pay 71% of The gross.. We also have a ton of small, local companies in South Jersey. We’re in a good location for pulling tankers. Keep us posted if you get your own truck.

 

I haul into paulsboro alot during asphalt season. From talking with some prime guys at the tank washes you can make better money elsewhere with better home time imo. Unless you are good with living in the truck (I'm not lol I dont mind running the road some...but I like my house also lol.)

Some of the smaller outfits are good but from what I've seen there benefits aren't always the greatest... that's the biggest deterrent for me.

Sounds like you and I are in very similar situations. I prefer hometown over big money also because I have four children. So of course health benefits are very important. Without getting too personal, how is the money with superior? I’m pulling A dry van right now for a huge national carrier and It’s a joke. I’m #### near running out my 70 hour clock and not even grossing 1400. Getting ready to jump but I’m looking for a Place to land first.

 

With the exception of food guys I grossed atleast 10k more then any of the other 8 people I went to CDL school with.. If your willing to work 70k is easily do able if not more... You'll earn the money but its there if you want it. Benefits are just for me right now and not that bad I picked here for them.... not sure on the family plan ones though. If your close to pedricktown we are really growing, you'd likely actually be training with myself feel free to PM me and I will shoot you my phone number. I came right to superior from CDL school and overall extremely glad I did.
