CFI has a pretty chill pet policy, $500 (they can take all at once or spread over 10 checks) no weight limit or breed restrictions, 1 pet per driver and has to be either a cat or a dog. But if you are sent to a customer who has a no dog policy you are responsible for finding boarding for said animal. In the almost 2 years my wife and i were with them we only had two places where it was an issue.

Hope that guy wasn’t in California because they would have fined him for not having a permit for the doggy door.

Yes you are correct. I'm talking about after I go through the school and pass training. Wondering the best route to go to get the CDL and then get my first year experience otr with my dog in the cabin asap

Cool, but please heed the advice I gave. Always ensure that you have a way to get you and your puppers home for any and all reasons. I have had to deal with animals that drivers dumped or left in the trucks when they quit or were fired.. it's horribly sad for the animals.

Ive been with my dog since he was born. I've traveled with him hitch hiking all over the country. I've even traveled with him on 15 hour bus rides. We will be good to go.

Agreed, @Chinatown. He's already limiting himself because of wanting to take a pet, I'm guessing there's not a lot of carriers allow it, and those that do more than likely will require a deposit and have a weight limit besides. Wilson is actually quite pet friendly, allowing up to two pets with no deposit and no weight limit. And it's one of the better companies to get a start with.

I don't think that's the case anymore. More and more companies realize the benefits of drivers having a pet on board. And most pet owners who are worth a #### are willing to pay the $500 deposit because their pet means the world to them. More and more companies will adapt with the times.

If you are asking about getting trained and having the dog in the truck for that, I've never heard of that. I believe Prime, requires new drivers have either 60 days or 6 months of trouble-free driving solo before they are allowed to bring a rider or a pet.
