Without having a schematic in hand, all I can do is speculate the following:
Sounds to me like there is a pressure sensor (that controls the gauge) and that the light is controlled by a simple on/off type pressure switch. I would start by verifying the above first and then check the pressure switch with an ohmmeter to see if its malfunctioning.

Thanks

05 Pete would still be oil hose from engine to gauge for oil pressure. Warning Light bar gets signal from ECM, pin 29 of OEM connector.
-
Well just here to report back and say it was the oil pressure sensor changed it out and now it’s perfect thanks guys!
xsetra, spsauerland and AModelCat Thank this. -
Well guys I thought it had fixed it but on the way back home today the same thing happened oil light and buzzer came on over 1500 rpms not as often though only does it when the engine is completely warmed up any other ideas other than the oil pressure sensor I just replaced.

Verify oil pressure. I noticed on our Pete's gauge read higher than ECM did from oil pressure sensor. They did upgrade pressure regulator in the oil filter base and many times found bore wear in the oil filter base also. Cat also changed low oil pressure strategy in newer flash files causing light to come on at higher pressure.

What’s should oil psi typically be at idle on a c13
-
Ecm reads about 20 psi at idle and mechanical gauge on dash reads 25psi
-
That is normal. Here is chart, have to convert from kPa to psi
-
Oil psi looks good across the rpm and I never get a sudden psi drop on the gauge when the oil light turns on.
