So I’m in CA and they want me to go to TX to clean the truck out. 1200miles from home.
If I bobtail to my home terminal how bad is it gonna look?
Unauthorized use of equipment?

have you been fired?
did you quit?
i do recall that many years ago, a company can call the cops and put in a theft of vehicle.
i don;t know if companies do that nowadays, but you wanna chance it?BUMBACLADWAR and x1Heavy Thank this. -
Truck should go back to original terminal you got it from. Did they make you sign anything about it when hired? Don’t let them jack you around. Take it back to right where you got it.
x1Heavy Thanks this. -
I made the mistake of giving them a notice.

No just saying it had to be turned into a major terminal. That’s where I want to take itRideandrepair Thanks this.

If you do it your way you may face charges and you certainly will have a near impossible time finding another driving job.

That will be either theft or unauthorized use. Ive been burned with that very close to a yard once. By a nosy company busy body. Ive long since been over that damage from that affair and forgave him for it. (And cleared that situation that year as well)
However what was then isnt so smooth today, they can capture and prosecute you for theft if they wish today.
Especially if you quit, fired in particular and so on.buddyd157 Thanks this. -
Guess I’m renting a car in the morning.
I already have a job, but I’m pissed. I don’t wanna go into it.buddyd157 Thanks this. -
While I could perhaps understand the logic, the truck has to go wherever they tell you the truck needs to go. Your employment agreement will have all of the information you need. Find it and read it and you will find your answers, not here.x1Heavy Thanks this.

Is home on your way to Texas, give or take a little detour?
Flat Earth Trucker Thanks this.
