The last 8 or 10 years I had the same problem and my Dr told me that my 55 or 60 year old hide was not making the lanolin it needs in winter. She told me to use an strong hand cream at least twice a day for any time from first snow to last.
She recommended Gold Bond Ultimate or Okeffes.
She also said to take a minute each time I get back in the truck to use it if I used sanitizer or strong soap inside the stop.

At the tender, young age of 39, I don't have such problems.:p My better half has a decade on me though, and she swears by that O'keefes. Even just her dirty gloves for loading or pumping fuel tear her hands up. She's found that throwing her gloves in the wash each week seems to help, too.

    Yup
My better half dragged me to the Dr when I came home after 3 weeks on the road with about 5 times chaining with wet leather gloves and my knuckles looked like hamburger. It took about 3 weeks to heal and no problems since.

O'keefes is good stuff and doesn't leave a greasy film on your hands.

Well, after being knocked in the dirt for about a week, I finally have some energy and a little more of an attention span. Tested negative for the flu, but I don't think it would have made much difference if it was.

I visited with a buddy of mine from up the road the other day that is hauling those big blades. I mentioned your trouble with a 14 day trip on the first round and he started cussin'. They're making that same trip you are.
