The sad part is, most of the medias just add the new cases to the existing numbers. It's well over 100000 by now. Very seldom do they report the numbers for recovered people. It's been reported at 53000 somewhen during the previous days.
Thake is serious but don't panic.
Corona virus cases will skyrocket in a week.

Here do some research... Here is a link for you...
What is the global incidence of influenza?
And here is a snippet I cut from that link that has the pertinent info regarding mortality rate world wide for influenza....
The World Health Organization estimates that worldwide, annual influenza epidemics result in about 3-5 million cases of severe illness and about 250,000 to 500,000 deaths.Truckermania, Snailexpress, 650cat425 and 1 other person Thank this. -

I dislike any media that has a agenda. That started a long long time ago.
Moving on.
My local stores are finally empty mostly of the TP and other things. So now I know the people have started buying at that level, far in excess of what is normal.
I understand a neighborhood in California has a quarantine around it after a 70 year old died in it from Corona after they removed the body. So it will be a first.
Maryland has three or four now. However for the time being they have all the cards in the medical world. Hopkins, NIH CDC, walter reed etc. Everything.
I am at the point at which I am not exactly following every little thing anymore. It's like a train thats gotten moving. You don't bother to count every car. Call it 100 and move on with your life. I do pay attention to Arkansas. They are more timely when necessary with the Mayflower incident last week. Had a lady in court throw up on a minor drug charge. Within 20 minutes news media had that information out and within the hour she was cleared of Corona. And charged with criminal charges with false claims etc. It was a very good drill essentially.
It will come along soon enough. Until then we carry on.
If this is war, this is the time of waiting in positions at the front waiting for the enemy to reach range to you. Otherwise just enjoy life and quit worrying about it too much. What good is 10 years in bales of toilet paper if you turned out to be dead from Corona in three weeks? *Shrugs.
As a side note, they have reported that Ammunition sales have taken off. If I needed it I got it 10 years ago, I checked a random box of Buffalo Bore rounds at 1350 in super .45 hardcast 255 grain and it's in good condition in deep storage. If its needed it will be part of the magazines in 10 minutes. I already have 9 magazines so I quit worrying about it. 20000 more rounds is just dead weight. So there is no point. Its not going to be fun to shoot those hardcasts I can tell you that. But those are not for fun. Not in that bad day.
If I had anything at all that I could use to be in a position to help others in the pending tornado season is a saw. Its going to be running about 600 for that big stihl more or less. Chop up those trees on the ground for winter to come. Even bad things like that can be used to keep families and their children warm and fed come the winter.clausland Thanks this. -

But to answer your question, no, I don't get scared when that's reported.
Do I feel that we, as a society, must be absolutely ####ing insane to accept the rate of deaths by guns in this nation, as normal?
I sure as hell do.
