Days gonna come when all every individual is gonna have is what they gave thanks for that day and yesterday.

I know I'll be thankful in another 45 minutes when our reset is completed and me and The OM can head to WHY-OH-MING.

Not to be a dick, but I don't know how you do a 34 he restart in the truck, especially in fowl weather, and don't lose your mind. When I started my local gig and gave up otr, there was no such thing. Elds weren't even thought of. I ran paper logs, pulled all the tricks, and when I couldn't see straight, I slept. Maybe everyone that calls me and the local crew a bunch of prima donnas or relics or dinosaurs, well... maybe they're onto something. God it hurts to admit that, but I wouldn't change it for anything.

TTR helps a lot when you're in these situations.

Then there's focusing on the task. This a great load for a good agent ( that's had a lot of problems lately).

I mean there's 3 other trucks now. I cash in a lot of favors and give them to my guys. I'm just dumb that way.

It's never taken a whole lot to make me happy. All I know is work. And I'd never ask or expect someone to do something I wouldn't do myself.

Everyone always wants to know can I make the same money you do.
Yes, if you can do what I do. Nothing special. Lot of focus and dedication, some sacrifice.

You can't do those things without liking the job.

The first law of Davenomics states - If you aren't making money, you're spending it. ( The OM says she invented that one, and I'm not going to argue with her).

Probably a good Idea. You won’t win that one.

    Question;

Should I be worried if half the fire department just showed up with lights and sirens at the truck stop?

Only if they are coming to your truck.

We once did a 84 in front of the Salinas Americold Docks in CA. Got out the lonesome dove vcr's and put them into the television, 4 tape set to start. Then a nap. Another movie another nap. nap until you are sick of nappy and want out. Watch fuel dwindle. Make gallows humor bets on getting loaded with no profit anywhere. Then make plans for if we actually did run out right there. (Wouldnt they love it... so much...)

I learned to laugh at really bad screwups by dispatch today. If I did not laugh about it I would cry.

You would think to put that on a tank tread and keep it rolling. Deep mud or not.

Wouldnt work, you will still dig holes to china.

that red crap is unreal. get it wet and its like a sloppy glue.

You sink in it, it sticks to everything, but you go nowhere.

My dump truck used to do that work, and ive had its interior apart 3-4 times, deep cleaned it every time and it still emits red dust.
