That was last year. I don’t know anymore. I’m gone after one year.

    WP,

Just wanted to shout out to you to get your opinion. You mentioned that you had gone to work for WW Trans some time ago and since they just contacted me today I need your advice.

Basically I was told by a guy out of IA that they pay 25% per load for their flour division and they would happily run me for weeks at a time throughout the NE and possibly as needed to fill gaps for other terminals as far down as Florida or midwest out to Chica land but generally NE I'm supposing. Not sure about any other pay like load/unload etc.

The problem I'm facing is that I have another offer from Wadhams dry van division RIST out of Albany NY area for regional work paying .43/mile to start (newbie in need of training out of CDL school) bumped to .485cpm after 6 mos and .545cpm at 1 yr+1day mark. Also they pay for pre/post trip at $17.10 each day to start up to $18.50 after 6 mos and capped at $20/day at 1yr+1 day mark.

They pay hazmat at flat +$10/load. Insurance seems ok but I dont have any basis for comparison. Bi weekly pay schedule, Insurance for single would be ~$300/mth since I smoke or ~$260/mth if i quit (which I probs won't). Their deductible is only $250.00 which sounds good compared to many self bought policies I've seen but not sure what WW Trans offers for insurance rates.

All in all is it worth it for me to head down to Easton PA like they asked to check things out or would I be better off going with Wadhams?

I’d go with Wahams if I were you. I dont know anything other than you said about them.
I imagine there must be some decent WW terminals. My experience. Ones I was at were awful from the terminal manager down. A few good trying people. Too many awful. I got no training on driving as a new cdl holder. All they did was try to get me to screw up. Turned me loose in Denver to figure it out on my own. Got me 2 out of service violations, 6 weeks after starting. That was because they wouldn’t fix it. I knew. I found out how to get stuff fixed on the road from that. Finished the year constantly fixing stuff. Every stinking run it was something else. Trailers in bad shape. I replaced 7 tires on trailers in one 2 week period. I could carry on so much you wouldn’t believe it.

Thanks so much. I'm so glad you got to me on this before I agreed to drive 4.5 hours down to Easton tomorrow to check it out and get cornered into making a bad decision. Wadhams does see like a really good opportunity for a noob. time will tell.

That Wadhams does sound good. Let me know how it works out. Chinatown would be interested also.

Good job driver. I didn't know you were out of work I thought you've been running. Either way it doesn't matter, it sounds like you are making it.

You probably already know this but if magnesium helps you bananas are loaded with that stuff.

Also try to incorporate salmon into your diet if it isn't already, and veggies of course. Salmon is supposed to be the most loaded meats we can eat that's full of the stuff we need.

Take your dog out for a lot of walks

This thread is from over two years ago.
I’ve gone through 4 jobs. Right now have two. One I’m supposed to go back to. Another I really like a bunch.

    Oh...

Ok so dieselsneezle is the necromancer that caught me off guard.

    Its OK though. I've resurrected 1 or 2... maybe 3... or 4.

That’s ok. Sometimes I even confuse two different threads. Post one on the other.
I’m glad I was able to help him.
