Yeah cool. I am interested in following this thread for updates. It’s a toss up for me between Holland and GP

Holland does not have salary, GPT does. The owners of both are brothers.

I been running... I just finished my first 30 days and covered 13888 miles. I am home for 34 in Dallas and got a preplan for Saturday leaving Dallas to Orlando Fl back to Seattle for Walmart. This place runs you and Mary always keeps me preplanned and Tyler always check on me weekly to see how things are going. I am thinking on leasing a truck next month with these guys if the miles stay this good. Yea i see that holland company i know they are family and they seem to have alot of open trucks on the yard. I am told we are close to full and have a waiting list for heavy haul guys to be hired. I like the salary my checks after taxes have been $1029 every Friday and I will be in the bonus pool for another $1000 monthly. So for me that works and I like stability. They do not boss ya and we fuel at loves mostly and if i need sumthing fixed i get it fixed no problems. I rarely hear from dispatch and they keep me planned ahead, I like it that way.

Do you think getting home to California once a month would be hard to do?
Also is part of the salary per diem or just straight salary.
    How about there idling policy?
Is a APU good when it -10 degrees

The way the frieght lanes here are you would have no problem in southern cal. I go there pretty much every other trip it seems. Straight salary with a mileage and fuel bonus. You get paid when you go home as well. I was out nine weeks, home now and I get paid for 9 days. The truck idles from 70 up and twenty down. If its below zero there going to want you to idle. Mileage bonus is easy to get, I pulled 15k miles my first 35 days here.

I did one nursery load when I was there. Oregon Nursery to a landscaping job site in Nor Cal. Had to drive through a very upscale residential tract to get to the home I was delivering to. The contractor had guys there to unload the trailer. The neighbors were not happy to have me near their parked cars on the streets...
