I have driven trucks with a 3.55 (13 speed)and know at 1500 rpm I will get 65 mph. I am looking at getting a truck with 3.70 ratio and would like to know at what speed are you getting at 1500 rpm.

Many thanx for your replies. Yes the rest of you with 10 speeds or what ever can reply too.

Depends on the size of the tires and the final drive ratio of the trans.

My truck runs 67 mph at 1500 rpm - 3:70 rears, 22.5 tires, 13 sp od - it pulls good but I'd rather have 3:55's

    1400 RPM...24.5 tires......10 speed 3.70

    1500 RPM...24.5 tires......10 speed 3.90

    1600 RPM...24.5 tires......10 speed 4.11

    65 mph.

The trucks I drive are set up like this.......3.90s deliver the best economy overall for the terrain we travel at gross weight.

Rolling hills and flat 50-50 loaded and empty...out loaded and back empty.

    jacksd3 Thanks this.
