    Yes it has one strut in the center but two helper springs. They assist in opening the hood. The strut just dampen the movement. 967416C1-0D6D-47A7-BFCE-85F727D909DA.jpeg

    I guess mine doesnt have the springs. Havent looked under the hood in 6 months or better so I cant remember.

    10-4. Going to look for the zephyr now.
    So was kind of a last minute thought, sitting around the house. Went to the local auto parts store & what a joke. The only thing I could find that said aluminum polish of any kind was this..

    Could have sworn I had an angle grinder in the shed, but nope on that too. Don't look great, but hit it with all the elbow grease my skinny ace could muster.. At least it's a start. Do the street side tomorrow..

    I hit that quarter fender too but was too dark to photo..

    Follow the hot wire that comes out of the clutch on the compressor, check all connectors. Unplug them and inspect them, many times over the years I have lost a/c just from a bad connection. Sometimes all you have to do is wiggle it and the compressor will kick in.
