Looks almost exactly like those Toyota Ninja Wagons (FJ Cruiser)

Heard rumours they have a 7 speed manual option.

Just talked to a few guys about trucking. Guy, kid well younger than me is hell bent that he can justify a $2300 a month payment and trade every 4 years based solely on his fuel milage saving. My high school math education tried to explain this to him.

Based only on payments and fuel consumption here are my scribbles.

Claims I can't compete with antique equipment. Think he should rethink his thoughts on who is competing with who.

Years ago, I went to NYC. There was nowhere to park, idling laws, crazy expensive tolls...etc. No one cares if you freeze inside a truck during the winter.
Suddenly, Superstorm Sandy appears and they want to waive all the rules and regulations to get us up there. Sure, I need $12000.

“But they need emergency supplies and whatnot.”

And when the emergency is over, it’s back to “screw you truckers, hope you freeze to death.”

I'll never understand the mind of someone looking to chase MPG. Like when we see threads where guys are contemplating re-gear. Somehow a 0.02 MPG gain from 3.73 to 3.55 will pay for the swap and save them thousands of dollars

“Sounds like a plan” would have been a much simpler response.

Maybe I need to adapt that. In the last 3 months I have been contacted by 4 owner ops local that are "High rollers" asking me what I been doing. Me? The kid who's truck might set for a week and you all talk about it? You want me to tell you what I been doing? Sure I'll give you my list of customers and brokers too.

Now I try to be very disciplined in achieving good fuel economy with what I have. But your right most dont make sense. 95% of fuel economy come from the drivers operation.
