I crossed back into Canada at Ft Erie yesterday afternoon and the only thing that that the Custom's Officer asked was if I had been out of either Canada or the US in the last 21 days.

The border to trucks won't close.
They can't live without you.Ol'Shusquatch and Rcranch81 Thank this. -
This is part of a letter issued by CBSA New Brunswick dated today I just got sent.
There is another page of companies responsibilities such as cleaning materials inside trucks and the drivers operating them to bleach surfaces daily, plus they are to ensure the drivers self isolate on their time off !
" We are exempting long haul trucking with some
mitigation measures, following the lead that some
other PTs have implemented with respect to the
cross-border movement of goods.
The Canada Border Service Agency (CBSA) and
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has
stated that the movement of goods is considered
“essential”.
New Brunswick government will work with industry
partners to ensure all companies are made aware
of important considerations with respect to cross-
border movements, as follows:
• Both CBP and CBSA are specifically taking
measures to assess all drivers, including
commercial drivers, crossing our shared
border and are directing drivers that exhibit
signs of COVID-19 to the appropriate officials.
We strongly encourage all carriers to assess
your drivers before crossing the border and
take the necessary measures if they exhibit
COVID-19 symptoms including calling the 811
Telecare number to speak to a health
practitioner and at the same time request they
self-isolate until they are assessed "Phantom Trucker Thanks this. -
All it's going to take is one sick driver to be confirmed covid19 at a crossing and you're looking at a September 11th scenario all over again.
Preclearance centers set up and delays that won't make crossing worth the money you'll lose waiting.
If I was an O/O ... I'd be running Canada only until the dust settles on this one.
Could either country seize a truck if they felt it was contaminated with the virus? -
There are local governments (Mayors etc) trying to give themselves the power to confiscate.
From what I understand today Canada is closed to all but Americans for the time being.Rcranch81 Thanks this. -
