you will get nailed for everyone one of them being damaged. if they call your company and have ANY video.
i'd wait and see. those thin panels get dinged very easily and you may not have felt anything is what you'll have to end of saying.
if you admit to hitting it, and you took off, now you have a hit and run charge, leaving the scene of an accident with property damage.
that's a fire-able offense. and a good chance of no future employment.

Now now I would not go that far.
I see it as retraining millenials who have been coached to report everything, even bad things that they themselves did in early life. Self report a accident vs a bollard pole? Get fired. Say nothing? It didnt happen.

But why would they blame all the damage on me, if they have video then they can see other drivers have hit it too, it says authorized parking on it and it’s dented all over

Why indeed. Engineers have a very bad habit of sticking stuff where it will get run over in those kinds of docks.
The nice thing about being 40 ton gorilla, is you can sit down where you want.
I once parked my drives on a invented parking spot on a pile of about 15 no parking signs. The local police were beside themselves. -
Bumped a few things at shippers, no damage to the object, so no report
Backed into a yellow pole backing into a tight dock, just dented the rear light bracket on my cab since I was going slowly.
Have scraped a cement wall or rock with my deer guard a few times at older places not designed for modern trucks.
Scraped my trailer against a phone pole sitting in the middle of an off street dock area doing a uturn during the night to park set up for a sight side dock and wait for the place to open. Maybe some scratches on the pole, but it was intact so said nothing.
When I was new, I had to blind side into a dock that had equipment across the lot from it, broke my hood mirror on a scissor lift. Didn't even report that to the company despite being a company driver/truck, just bought a new one at a truck stop and installed it.
One time at a foundry had to back into a dock and really screwed up the setup, bumped into a shifted a stack of ingots with my rear drive tires, but a truck will get damaged before a 1 ton solid hunk of metal so no worries there.
I'm strongly against lieing, but it's just not worth the hassle reporting any minor incident. Don't fuss over minor damages like small dents or scratches. And if there are cameras that show you hitting something, they would also show preexisting damage to save you from being accused of all the damage. It can easily happen without noticing considering the size of our trucks and how tight some docks are. If somebody came back to me and asked (and it hasn't happened yet), I would just say "What? I did? Are you sure it was me? I honestly didn't notice hitting anything".
Now as for actually causing damage that would have to be repaired? Yes, report it to cover your ###.
Once at a company yard I accidentally scraped another trailer with the tail end of mine putting some gouges in it from my bottom door hinge. But I carry a tube of silicon on my truck so I patched the scrapes, called safety about it, and sent before and after pictures. The guy thanked me for the pictures and reporting it instead of driving off and I never heard anything about it after that.Maverick Griff, BackwoodsGA and x1Heavy Thank this. -
Indeed. I fought a hydrant once. And lost.
200 dollars for a tire. No problem. Just the Bossman when he sees me pull in with a flat trailer tire and giant hole in it.

Years ago I delivered to a place in Waterbury, CT. They had an ancient small building off a narrow side street that they used as a warehouse. It was tight getting in there, and when you did get lined up to the improvised dock, your tractor was jack knifed taking up the road.
Anyway, while we were unloading, some jack wagon pulls up and lays on the horn demanding that I move the truck. Look, just go up to the next street and go through that way. Nope, you gotta move. Nope, not until we're done unloading. I'm calling the police. You do that. He turns around and leaves (no cell phones in them days).
Sure enough, little while later, here comes smokey with jack wagon in tow. You gotta move it. Well, ok, but how are we supposed to unload? Not my problem, move it or I'll have it towed. Ended up cranking down the dollies and pulling the pin.
I still dislike big cities and city attitudes even today. I try to avoid going to them at all costs.Maverick Griff and x1Heavy Thank this.
