The first truck I got had dog poop all over it from the previous driver. Spent the first 2 days at the terminal cleaning it. Good times.

The Cessna 152 is a good plane for what it is. When flying home from school each week on friday, we usually had to rent the 172 as it was able to handle the 70 pounds in suitcase at datum line that I carried with me in addition to my pilot who was my counselor in those days. About a 10 minute flight. A few minutes more depending on winds. The Archer was my favorite, it was a luxury plane in those days fully equipped.

We end up using all means of navigation and that was what I did that year maps, DME, VOR, ground navigation and so on. I got pretty good at that. (I had to.) Much better at that than actual flying. My hands were very hammy. SO if you let me hold er at 020 its plus or minus 150 until I get her trimmed out. So thats pretty sloppy.

We have a field in searcy and I have plans to have a pilot and plane rental to do more cross country navigation exercises. Once the fuel price drops later this year (We are alread at about 1.40 gas and dropping to about 95 cents by 6 weeks from today.) I expect to increase my time in navigation and break the rust off. The reward is arriving at the field B for lunch or whatever and returning to field A in any weather by dinner (Pilot is rated Instrument and Searcy has ILS level 2)

Its one activity I look forward to getting back into. Ive been bound to the earth too long. Its time to get upstairs.

    I HATE ALL BOSSES.

I was in Londonfog as a temp, folding of all things envelopes. We assign that task to Deaf Workshops to Trainables who are earning the permission to advance into a situation in which they have some responsibility back in the 70's. ANYway I got henpecked by like 4 layers of increasingly senior Bosses in addition to my Temp company Boss.

And here I am folding envelopes for 3.35 a hour. Around people who could not be bothered to thank me for my share of folding. In fact, they resented me being there because their precious coworker took sick and forced the boss to hire a temp at a labor cost higher than 3.35 a hour (About 8 in those days) And the fact that I was a male in that room.

That created a new situation too.

    I quit.

As soon I got home, I started making arrangements to join trucking school in Baltimore City on Haven Street, a pack of smokes half full, half tank of gas, 10.00 in pocket and a signed 2500 dollar promissory note from Dear Uncle Sam kicked off the whole thing. Classes start that weekend.

Boy did that work out fine when it comes to solitude. Go home and listen to all my friends ##### and moan about being micromanaged and not allowed to make decisions in any way.

    HA...

Plus one on the female stuff.

There are places in the USA by being Female or even behaving as a Beta Male will mark you as Prey to a whole street full of predators who fear nothing and have nothing to lose.

Ive got a night stick in the corner with a few marks on it inflicted by those who needed a thump or two. And I liked to fight in those days but there were a couple that was a #### near thing.

One time wife pulled into TA at Jackson TN to fuel. She gets chased to my cab by a sexual predator. I wake up with him trying to get to her across my cab.

My actions in attack was extremely dangerous to him. The threat I presented against him (The law allows deadly force in defense of sexual attacker for someone in your family such as teen girl or wife etc in my state) he fled.)

If she was alone she would have been raped right there in that passenger seat floor and no one in the area would be anywiser.

Im very sorry we did not catch him but that was enough all around.

IMHO, I would've refused and asked for another tractor, OR waited (on the clock~ detention/layover) whilst their DETAIL guy (or gal) was cleaning it. That's just ME, YMMV~! :)
