Gmt 800s are good vehicles. Hard to beat LS engines. Made a ton o dough fixing transfer cases. If someone knows a few tricks they can be made bulletproof. We had an 02 2500hd for 13 years. Worked the bag off it. Usually only asked for gas, and lots of it. Sold it due to rust, and my son didnt fit in the extended cab. Had 500 000km on it. Guy down the road bought it, still rolling around. We replaced it with a gas '17 3500hd single wheel. Glad we got a new truck before the 2020 hds came out. Gonna take some time for those to grow on me.Eldiablo, singlescrewshaker, D.Tibbitt and 6 others Thank this.

For some reason the half tons of any brand the last few years don't look nearly as good as their 3/4 and 1 ton counterparts.
I had a 2011 Sierra with the 4.8L. Traded it in with over 300k on the clock. Not so much as 1 slightly damp sweat anywhere under the truck. Powertrain 100% original. Only ever rebuilt the complete front end (including rack) at 200k. That and the odd front axle seal. Rest was all just regular maintenance items. Only real issue I had was that cheap ### pressure line for the power steering. Every 18 months like clockwork it'd leak. I was even running the AC Delco winter PS fluid too.
Amazing thing is despite our crazy cold winters I never plugged the truck in. Actually honestly to this day don't even know where the block heater was on that thing. Fired up every time. Never worried once.Last edited: Mar 19, 2020

So I hope you all know I hate gov. And not partial to either crooked side.
Just happen to find this completley amazing that the President wants to send payments to every American that cant work of been effected by a virus that most of his party including himself dont, or has not believed in when the economy is so strong. It will go away.
Its are money, not the Gov. We paid the taxes. It's not free. I'm gonna keep working to help pay for the people that cant save some cash for hard times.
With that said, I hope any strong right Republicans think long and hard before they cash that check. Unless going against your values has a price tag.
Good luck

Yeah I’m wondering about that “save for a rainy day” thing myself?
What was it like 4 years ago, they did a study that %90 of Americans couldn’t come up with $400 cash if there was an emergency?
I guess they got us right where they want us?
I said the second day I heard about this virus it would make a trillion $ disappear. Now that’s laughable.
Heck there going to give Boeing 60 billion right out the gate. -
I wonder how it varies by generation....
I’m the only one I know with a decent 401k at my age.... and I’m not talking about working for a company that offers it or not — I’m talking about having any substantial savings in it...Lostkeys, Eldiablo, singlescrewshaker and 10 others Thank this.
