got a message over Qualcomm about some virus faq vid.
also states will get paid time off if exposed or sick and required to be quarantined.FerrissWheel Thanks this. -
I got that as well.
Wasn't that part of a house bill or something?
And I care about faq vids about as much as I do for this whole virus panic.
In a world that believes in science, evolution and the survival of the fittest I think we should just let this play out as it will.
Or is that too atheist of a viewpoint?!
Oh, right, I'm not atheist.
Italy has gotten to the point of refusing treatment for anyone over 80 years of age.
Too short on supplies and equipment to waste it on the non-productive I guess.
Are they wrong for doing so?
And this with a country with the 'health care for all' system.
Everyone gets equal treatment at no cost, except when it really comes down to it in a crisis.
And then it is simply survival of the fittest.
No system can fulfill the requirements of the entire population, and we should realize that by now.FerrissWheel, dptrucker and dwells40 Thank this. -
"Health care for all" ha
Our healthcare system was designed to make money, not take care of anyone. Some Doctors care and even some hospital admins, but in the end very few care and its all a money making endeavor.
And stockpiling supplies for a pandemic is not a profitable model. That's something that requires either government organisation (which is all for votes power and money in the end.) Or the pervue of an actual altruistic organisation that actually does give a ****.
I am a very cynical individual.
Personally I find the lack of preparedness of the healthcare industry worldwide quite saddening and disturbing, but expected. And I would rather have decent healthcare over another sports stadium or aircraft carrier.
Despite the fact that i have a decent insurance policy (which i only got for the benefit of my Husband and that stupid mandate in Obamacare.) My personal physician is a cash only doctor. And he works with pharmacy's that are also cash only, but are capable of making the drugs themselves. Or getting the generics. And ive gotten better care out of my own pocket than someone beholden to the whims of a bloody insurance company. His hands arent tied, my last visit with him lasted 1.5 hrs. You don't get that out of someone seeing 50 patients a day to make thier money. Its rare but there are shockingly alot of doctors in Vegas that charge very reasonable rates and don't use any insurance networks, and the care is alot better. For serious procedures he refers me to docs within my network of course.
But seeing as you never can really predict what a mass medical situation will entail, it is hard to prepare for it anyway. Though there are certainly steps that could be made that could alleviate some issue that are universal, like bloody bed spaces.
I dont know why i went on that rant but i aint deleting it sooooooo.......
Im fiesty, truck service tomorrow in PHX. This is what's dangerous about having a student to much time to be bloody bored.
At my age honestly, I do not care about this whole thing, i thought it was a scam from the start to get more people to go to the doctor over simple cold symptoms. But I admit that it seems there is at least slightly more to it than that. I will however take steps to avoid others, more for thier protection than my own, since im in the bloody near indestructible category of demographics. And admittedly im an anti social individual, so now my normal social avoidance isn't considered quite as weird.
I need more hobbies.dptrucker Thanks this. -
I think it's overreaction.calif gov
says 56% of Californians will get it.
so why is he calling for stay at home b.s. if that doesn't work?
are they going to do this when flu season comes.
do you see how easily the government controlled everything?FerrissWheel Thanks this. -
the other driver left Denver at 2 am this morning and should arrive hete in Lupton az between 1200 and 1300.
gonna be a long day.
602 miles to final. so I will try and get it off tonite.FerrissWheel Thanks this. -
Ann Arbor, MI at the TA.
340 miles empty for a Costco load out of Morris, IL. No drivers out there it seems, as they were 80 loads overbooked today. They have been that way in the Chicago area for at least a week now.
I'll be headed up to my town of Burnsville, MN for a Sunday delivery.
I'm going to meet up with my sister. She is low on toilet paper, which I luckily found at a Walmart a couple days ago, and I need some soy sauce.
I get home next week, which will be nice.FerrissWheel Thanks this. -
The control part is the scary bit.
But the reality is that some people can carry the virus for 24 days without even a symptom (and be contagious). The truth is even on a full lock down, enough time has already passed to infect many.
Though i do wonder where they pulled that number from.
Of course im wondering what precisely the angle is here, a dry run for a more sinister plot, a bizarre social experiment, idk....... Or a bunch of politicians who are in the perfect demographic to die from it. Never stopped things before.dptrucker Thanks this.
