Left that nice apt in the hotel in Cabo Frio and I'm here now.
I miss that hotel already... had all paid till April 7th.... supermarket right next to it and SOOO many other amenities....
BUT, I came to my empty apartment in the city of Rio... paid $300.00 Reais to a driver to bring me here because the Governor is shutting down all kinds of paid transportation between cities at mid-night tonight...Wasted Thyme, InTooDeep, dwells40 and 4 others Thank this. -
Give her a chance, she will get lost in a paper bag.
Ok this would explain the wifes phobia about cute penguins named Opus.

No buses between the city if Rio and other cities. No business open except food markets and drug stores, no government buildings open, no bars or restaurants, no schools or churches, no shopping malls NOTHING!
Nobody allowed on beaches or parks or anywhere unless going to food markets or drug store or to the hospital....
Government can't deal with this so they are telling people to lock themselves inside home and stay there till who knows when....
And how are people going to pay their bills, and buy food if they can't work and business can't open?
Government said will waive some utility payment for 2 months but after that, they will want it all...
The driver who drove me here is self-employed.... how is he going to make money if the government is forbidding him to work?
I think this is going to turn nasty very soon. . and more crime.... people will get desperate....Last edited: Mar 20, 2020

An update
Earlier, i had posted about the company closing down the facilities. Now have more info.
It seems a family went on a vacation to a large entertainment complex located in Orange County. Several days after their return from this magical place, the entire family was having symptoms of the virus, one member is currently in ICU.
Why the facility is shut down. One member of the family is employed at the facility and was working for a few days before the symptoms started.
So now things are in a holding pattern, with an estimated time in early April to reopen the facility.Wasted Thyme, InTooDeep, dwells40 and 3 others Thank this. -
The bus fare from Cabo Frio to here costs between $54.00 to $80.00 Reais... I paid $300.00.... was VERY glad to do that.... helped the driver and he picked me up at the hotel and I brought All my stuff here. Stuff I will leave here and stuff I will take with me to the USA...
Waiting for my travel agent to get me something some flight leaving sooner than Wednesday... he said he is trying.... Shall see....
There's no TV here, no refrigerator, no stove, no microwave, no pots and pans and dishes.... no Wi-Fi... my internet signal sucks.. no furniture, only a small cushion on the floor... but that's ok... I am a nomad, a truck driver... and used to "adapt"....
