Gov Abbott ordered all non-essential businesses closed on Fri. Most essential businesses are limiting or stopping people from coming into their buildings. So you might want to check with whatever branch you're planning on going to.

Also FFE, Frozen Food Express might be worthwhile to look at. I think you're gonna need a company that will hire someone with no recent experience and give them a refresher course, unless I misunderstood you and you've been driving for your last co. @TravR1 works for FFE and likes it..

And finding driving job in S Tx isnt hard at all. Just driving down I69 to I2 and look at all the signs.

I know FFE was bought out by KLLM, but I'll have an accident and let my wife collect my life insurance before I go back to work for them.

My current job while not solely a driving position does have me hauling flatbed loads once or twice a month. I do see the possibility of being sent out with a trainer for a few weeks, but I'm hoping I won't be sent to a refresher class like somebody who has been completely out of the game.
