Thanks, it looks to be about 8 gauge or so, but maybe 3/16". It's thicker than 1/8" anyway. I'm gonna fabricate one.
I'll let you know how I make out, just gotta fit it in with all the other work somehow. I've got time though it seems. The guy I was gonna be pulling for is having a hard time right now, like most everyone else. Sucks, but that's the way it goes....

I ran a 69? Louisville hauling mobile homes that had basically the same mirror setup except there where no power mirrors and mine extended to look down a 16 ft wide shack. Mine mounted instead of the visor (side and center) and had brackets that extended back to the rear of the doors and bolted to the door/cab structure there. That also gave structure to mount revolving lights and radio antennas.
2 pinch bolts on each side..Last edited: Mar 22, 2020

I can PM some drawings of what we had on our old shack truck if you want. I did all the cutting and fitting for 2 units being put on the road in '85 and the boss had them welded up by a local shop.SAR, Eldiablo, PoleCrusher and 5 others Thank this.

Sure thing, thanks, I've got an idea of how I want to construct them, but I'd like to see how you did yours for more ideas.
Basically, what I'm looking to do is keep the normal width mirrors on the truck, with the ability to add an adjustable width set on both sides in order to compensate for up to 12' OW loads. Also, with the additional ability to easily remove them when not pulling OW loads...SAR, Eldiablo, PoleCrusher and 3 others Thank this. -
We are watching Brian...
Anybody up in the Minnesota/Wisconsin area get a chance the see him play go. We met him a few years ago at my sister-in-law's house for a pre concert party. He's just a great guy. GB LeightonSAR, Eldiablo, PoleCrusher and 2 others Thank this. -
