How will you handle getting Corona virus while OTR?

I sleep with my Physician so going through the front door is the only option for me.. She’ll either quarantine me to the master suite or perhaps the garage

Most likely you won’t be admitted into a hospital unless you’re critical...

 

If the entire US government doesn’t go bankrupt you probably could actually pull that off. LOL

 

or worse there will be a conspiracy theory that says it didn't really happen. Or a government conspiracy. LOL

I'm wondering how my company will handle things if I get this virus while on the road and have to shut down for a couple weeks.
They don't like trucks sitting idle, after all.

And if I can get home, both me and my sister are over 60 so we are both high risk.
Not sure I would want to put that on her.


On the other hand, the actual numbers show a very low percentage of people getting the virus. And much lower dying from it. So I'm really not that worried about getting it.


This whole thing is getting out of control from both ends.
There are the frightened that shut everything down and/or hoard food and supplies, to the young that simply don't care about anything or anyone and continue to party hardy.

Extremes in everything these days it seems, and nothing in between as it really should be.

 

I'm putting on my bright orange jersey. The CDC says the virus likes dark colors.

 

Everybody should at least take one month off. Don't allow yourself to be stranded.

Basically
feeling of suffocating or drowning that worsens until you die. No air
you cannot survive for long

 

I couldn’t even fathom the panic in the media if all us truck drivers decided to just take a month off. Bro they’re freaking out about being out of toilet paper, can you imagine? If it came out that all truck drivers were going to sit for a month the little bit of stuff that’s left on the shelves would be wiped out in hours.
I’ve been running hard during this crisis and was planning to continue but now that my company is messing up my loads And just leaving me in random places to freaking sit for a day at a time with no pay, I’m taking all the home time off I can.

 

If you contract the virus make it point to immediately go back to your main terminal and personally visit all those who had a problem with you shutting down (or do it without the virus to drive the point home). Make sure to cough on them.
