Some do that to make sure there is no OS&D and the customer pays them correctly.

Did you ask them for a fuel advance?

Is this your literal first load, or just your first load with the broker? I'll do quick pay for new carrier partners, but I get real leery of that if we're talking about less than a month of active time on the authority.

You can ask one of the mods to try and set something up. Be advised, though- per forum rules, we are unable to conduct anything resembling business. And that includes sharing of my contact information in any form or fashion.

That being said- there's a number of reasons I could see not extending quickpay on load #1. Mostly it's to make sure any charges are squared away, first.

This is fairly common for small brokers. If you can't float just one load for 30 days is also a bad reflection on your business.

I do QP on most loads and I'm leary of new brokers and like getting paid quick and easy. Just got a load two weeks ago for a new broker. No quick pay. Contract said 30 days. Does direct deposit. Agent said they pay in about 10 days. Did the load standard pay. Money was deposited 8 days later for no fee. Definitely going to consider them again in the future.

You should. That's rare. I don't do QP unless it's 2% or less and that's mostly with the biggest outfits. You can tell a good small one when they pay right away. Money in the bank already.
OP, they look at us the same. It's not a good business plan to be desperate. I understand that's hard right now though.

Faster than expected payment without a fee is a good sign that you are dealing with the originating broker of a load. Scummy double brokers are working on such thin margins that they need peter to cough up pauls cash and that takes time.
