So for the first time in my life I have finally gone up to the overweight category in the BMI chart. I’m about 170, and my height is 5’9.” I should add that I have been lifting weights for about 6 months, and I’ll guess that 5 or 10 pounds could be due to muscle gains. Anyway, my question is would hitting the overweight category mean I’ll have to be given additional medical tests!?
BMI and DOT Physicals?

Lung capacity test most likely but also depends on your neck size

I've been in the overweight category since I started driving. Neck size is the biggest concern, it seems. When I had a 17.5 neck, they'd give me all sorts of crap. At 16.5 no one bats an eye.

I’m 5’9”. 210, never had a problem. When I was 170, I was in perfect shape, no fat. I can’t imagine you having a problem

I find BMI to be a inaccurate measurement of a person’s health.
The doctors actually call Dwayne “the Rock” Johnson obese because he’s 285 lbs. But he’s extremely fit. -

So I passed my DOT physical once again at an urgent care. Only $90. The doctor gave me 2 years.
