Hey Papa-thanks for the encouragement. I just wish I had known that was an issue. The thing is, I was already tapering off the med, so I would've just waited until I had finished doing that. I'm not angry, just a bit disappointed. Like I said, I did my homework. There is not one thread on this site that said Stevens had an issue with this med, and in fact, there were more than a couple that weren't about Stevens but did say the drug was ok. I'm disappointed to say the least, and I should've known better.

Something will work out. As I also stated previously, I am in PERFECT health. My BP was 118/68, passed the drug screen, etc. If Stevens doesn't work out, surely somebody would have a spot for someone who is only 46, physically fit and strong, and drug free who wants to work.

Don't worry about it man. Do a google search on vision and you can find vision chart that is printable. Just make sure to print it out to 100%, measure just to make sure the black box is 1" or whatever scale they tell you to do, tape it to a wall at eye level, stand back 10 feet and check your own vision. they aren't asking for superhuman xray vision or anything. You only have to read line 5 I think it is. I didn't even have the right contacts in and I read line 7. You can check it yourself very easily. 20/20 vision means you can read a 2" letter at 20 feet (or 1" at 10'). I think I have numbers right, but the website has it all. Vision test seriously lasted for about 5 seconds. Maybe less.

    Baack Thanks this.

I think it was 20 feet. It doesn't really matter how far away they make you stand, they have to make the text the correct scale. If you have a test from only ten feet, the letters are 1". If it's from 20' (further away) then the text has to be 2" (larger). If your vision is corrected by glasses or contacts, 1" text at 10' looks just like 2" text at 20'. Do you understand?

In other words, just because you may have a test that the text is closer doesn't mean it will be easier to read. If it is closer, then the text size is adjusted down in scale to make it just as hard to read as it would be from 20'. I think you only have to read to like line 4 or 5 for you to have 20/20 vision. Like I said, I had the wrong contacts in yet again (first time was at the DPS) and I was able to just make out line 7. DON'T WORRY DUDE!!!!

Incidentally, alot of people in our class were misinformed on this too. I heard a bunch of guys come back after their eye exam and say I have perfect vision, 20/20. Just to be clear, 20/20 is not perfect vision. There is no such thing as perfect vision. All 20/20 indicates is that you can read a 2" text from 20' away. 20/15 is actually better vision than 20/20; and 20/10 is better than 20/15. However, if you can see 20/10, you have extraordinarily acute vision, but they don't really measure much beyond that in an eye test, and I'm not sure one can really define perfect vision. I think there was one guy in our class who did have some phenomenal vision. He was young and no glasses or contacts and I think he read the 20/10 line, which just looks like a straight horizontal black line to me!!!
