I know that they sent 1 guy home during my ornt that only had 7 months but I think he refused to go out with a trainer. Cause I know we had some guys that had just got out of school

 

GL R-n-R Trucker , I have about 12yrs exp and have been unemployed for about a year now, and have also put in a app with FFE , still waiting to see how it goes , I have a clean driving record . well wish you the best of luck there!

 

Well shouldn't be a problem. I was off the road for 3 years and so far everything is going good. Still getting used to all the reefer stuff. Got about 2022 miles last week but I'm new and I ran out of hours on 1 trip so I knew I would be a little short. But that will still be better then what I was making at home in the bar.

 

I have found that i still hate bus rides , mine was only 12 hours but felt like 12 days, and if anyone else is going greyhound make sure your bags are under 50lbs, they will charge you 10.00 for an extra bag (after 2 check in bags ) but if you have one that weighs 72lbs they will charge you 80.00+ to send it , than they didnt even send it on the same bus that i was on well now its my turn and I'm going thru FFEs orientation, the motel is abit shabby, and the breakfast they serve consist of the worst coffee i have ever had and they put out a small basket of very old looking apples and sometimes oranges and a few gonala type bars (but not enough to go around for everyone), luckily there is acouple cracker barrel , waffle house and 7-11 close by cause the food they serve for lunch and dinner the past 2 days hasnt been very good either. But i didn't come here for the room and food , I came for the job. and pretty much things are as I was told. tomorrow is the last day and only a half day of orientation and I will find out where I stand at the exit interview tomorrow. hope thing are still going well for you RnR

Hey good for you BJ. Yeah the hotel sux for breakfest and the tell you at ornt that hotel is supposed to supply it but thay don't so we complained maybe that will get that taken care of.The food we had was't the best but I have had worse in some of these truck stops.But you are just about done now.Hopefully you won't have to travel to get a truck or you will be back on the greyhound.Rihjt now I'm sittin here in OH had a load that picked up in IL but appt time got moved till Fri so they are gonna get me another load. So far so good. I'm doin alright but could do better but times is tough in this economy so I will have to just ride it out, Still makin more money out here then at home workin at the bar. Well talk to you later BJ maybe we will meet up out here and hang out. Still tryin to find Biscut and hang with him too.

I finally got time to get back online. This past weekend I sent with family in Florida for my "time off". Left back out Monday, up to Chicago for Wednesday and got to Denver last night (Thursday) with my AC broken. Now I'm sitting at the hotel while the truck is in the dealer. If I can find a car to rent I'll be cruising around Denver later. But in a few minutes I'm going down to the Hotel Bar, grabbing a beer and headed for the pool. :smt030

Sometimes breakdowns aren't so bad....
