Wow, I guess I need to listen to it again.
The storyline – a self-fulfilment prophecy, mixed up with time travel – is actually quite complex. It’s about a man who goes into the future and witnesses the apocalypse. Going back to his own time, he encounters a rogue magnetic field, which turns him into a mute, steel creature. Unable to talk, he still tries to warn people about the impending end of the world, but is only mocked for his troubles. Angry and bitter, he eventually causes the devastation he’d warned everyone about. Ultimately the would-be hero becomes the villain.
“I was heavily into science fiction at the time,” Butler recalls of almost 50 years ago. “Remember, this was the era of the space race,” he says. “A lot of the stuff I was writing about was inspired by those sorts of stories. I was fascinated by what might happen to a man who’s suddenly transformed into a metal being. He still has a human brain, and wants to do the right thing, but eventually his own frustrations at the way humanity treats him drives this creature to taking extreme action. It’s almost a cry for help.
“What I always attempted to do with my science-fiction plots was to make these relevant to the modern world at the time,” Butler continues. “So I brought war and politics in. It was also an era when the whole issue of pollution was starting to get attention, and this affected my thinking quite a bit.” -

Peelot in Plymouth, IN off 30 is cursed..
Rollin in round 2am I think last night .
No spots, so I make my own along the curb.
By time I eat, shower, its bout 4am probably..
There is a 389, 2 axle lowboy parked about where that beige truck is in the top right corner, but closer to the structure in the upper left..
Well I can tell there will not be enough room for him to pull out since I paralleled in front of him. The structure in the top left corner has a chain keeping you from pulling in there. So I lifted the chain and slipped the back 20 feet of my empty deck under there so he could pull out when he woke up.
So that SOB decides at 5 a.m. to bang on my door like he's the freaking fuzz. Just to tell me they don't want people parking like that, with a major attitude I might add.. No sheet Surlock.. I know what the chain is for. But I ain't blocking you, or anyone else for that matter..
I blew the Eff up man.. Bumped him hard as I could with the door as I swung it open. I called that dude every name in the book trying to make him take the 1st swing. He didn't, but I was practically foaming at the mouth, so I inadvertently spit on him bout a dozen times as I was yelling inches from his face at least. 1st time I've been roused from my sleep like that by anyone. Yet I don't see a real reason why he did this..? Just to be a prick I felt..
Then I go to leave around, well this morning. Dash valve gave up, & I couldn't release the tractor side. Truck won't budge.. WTF. Called a guy, there goes $400 for a callout, & new dash module.
Then I go to dump some fuel in, & the nozzle jumps out & spewed a blast of fuel all over the tank.. Also pulled a screw from my left outer drive, but thankfully it didn't puncture..
Cursed.!! Cursed I tell you.!!jamespmack, Tug Toy, Eldiablo and 5 others Thank this. -

I'm a spot market tramp, LoL.. HellifIknow.. LoL
Honestly I'm not sure. Nothing lined up yet, & my gal said it wasn't looking good up there. As of now, the plan is to dump the load & turn south. Not sure how far yet. Had luck in Waukesha, but that's a hike.. Maybe have her look over my old bol's to get better idea..
