I've been looking into plans like Nutrisystem but was wondering if anyone here was on anything else or had a self made plan they'd be willing to share? I know what the "right" foods are to eat, I just find it easier to have a set menu laid out for myself so that I know exactly what I can eat on any given day. I don't have a mic or fridge in my truck and have no desire to get them as I am home every other day at least, driving on a dedicated account. I am just trying to get to a healthy weight and lean up right now more than anything.

Without a fridge, I would say take along some fruit, and maybe some bagels and peanut butter. Granola bars are also helpful.

Drop the soda, if you haven't already. Gatorade type drinks and such are really no better. Pure juices and water are your friend. Coffee and tea are also on my treat list.

When talking of tea, avoid those bottled teas like the flavored Liptons, since they are no better than soda. Go for the pure green teas and black teas, or brew your own.

I also tend to pack snacks that are healthy, such as trail mix. Be careful with that though, since there is a lot of fat in it. 1/2 cup serving a day is all you should have.

I carry alot of canned veggies and a can opener, also canned tuna and I will buy just a plain salad and add the tuna or some canned crab or shrimp meat to it

most pre prepared meals are low in calories but high in fat and I have trouble finding low fat to no fat alternatives so I have to make it up as I go
