If they don’t change the tax code, or put in a provision on any loan turned to grant that will be relieved of debt. The amount of that loan/grant is then considered a form of income. It would then be subject to taxing. During the foreclosure surge of the last economic disaster, lots of people had a rude surprise with that.

Something about payroll. Pay your employees and keep them employed. Then it's forgiven.

    Otherwise. Pay it back.

    D.Tibbitt and ncdriver1 Thank this.

    Page 52, Section 1106, subsection i, lines 5 - 9

    (i) TAXABILITY.—For purposes of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, any amount which (but for this sub-section) would be includible in gross income of the eligible recipient by reason of forgiveness described in subsection (b) shall be excluded from gross income.

So that means the loan forgiveness wont be taxed as income.

    D.Tibbitt and Opus Thank this.

It is not like they are sending money to everyone who filed taxes, is it?

This is a band-aid that will ultimately fail. When, not if, the US dollar is no longer worth the paper it's printed on, the house of cards built on fiat (fake, monopoly) money comes tumbling down, with disastrous results. Allies that we thought we had won't be found, as they were "helped" by the communists and found new friends.

All this "free money" will result in hyperinflation and ultimately the destruction of the US dollar. 25+ trillion dollar debt cannot go on & on without consequences. Shame on our "leaders" who allowed this to happen, along with the people who cheered them on.

Upon the collapse of the US dollar, by that point, wealth that you thought you had in the form of the US dollar will be gone. A better move may be to take that money now, while it's still worth something, and purchase tangible property that will be worth something in the future. Buy and pay in full for some land. It need not be much, but land that can be used for housing, water source, cultivating crops & animals, for you and your family's survival for when these times come. Develop a plan now and purchase necessary tools & implements while you still can get them. For the city folk, forget the internet & you tube, books are what you're going to need.

History has shown that when governments fail, even here during the great depression, the people in rural areas that owned paid for land, even though they had no money, did ok, they survived. They helped one another and often "traded" for what they needed. People in urban areas, or with failed mortgages, well, read up on it for more of that story.

The communists are experts at playing chess. They are playing that chess game right now. One example is by "helping" (leveraging) our allies in Europe, all the while denouncing the U.S. and blaming us for this pandemic, as they continue to stoke the flames of discord among our own people. Make no mistake, the ultimate goal of the communists is to destroy the U.S, checkmate comrade.
