I don't even know where to begin. This shady Lithuanian company has dispatchers that will tell you to get to your pick up five to six hours earlier than your regular appointment time.after that you will get a phone call from the safety manager who tells you to use personal conveyance to get to the pickup and then after you're loaded drive 10 minutes down the road and log in.if you so much as question them or rub them the wrong way they will tell you to bring the truck to Chicago to the yard because they need to talk to you at which point a take their truck back and leave you stranded.and then if you think you're getting any of your escrow money or any of the last paycheck that you earned think again. They also operate under a few more different names one of which is Goldway. I wish somebody would read this and have the proper authority to shut these people down.

They take 150 per week from your pay for 10 weeks. They are supposed to return it within 30 days of seperating from the company providing there wasn't a claim on the Freight you delivered. They don't even pay you your last check, so getting escrow back is not likey.

I guess that would be a deal breaker for me from my initial inquiry on the job.
Probably would not even consider it if a 1099 out of greater Chicagoland.

Too bad they don't tell you this until you get there. Also they forgot to mention the 180 drug test that also comes out of the 1st check.

No one gets to dictate your actions inside that tractor trailer. You decide the correct and legal ay to PC and it shoul dnot even be too regular.

Any time you have doubts about appt times you call in yourself and double check that. I had a dispatcher that liked to send me somewhere by 10 am across NY state from Albany in a rush, got caught OOS once doing that deadhead. Anyway I check with the shipper and found that he is first come first served all the way until 8 PM and the customer in those days was NE of Baltimore beltway so it's not too difficult of a run being 9 hours overnight with a leeway to back in to their dock by 1 Pm if we arrived late in the morning time to get rested.

By understanding the situation against the time I can make the loads happen with a minimum of fuss from anyone especially the customers. Then it becomes clock work. Reliability. There has been times due to storms and other time consuming problms I arrive in White Marsh pretty tired. Deliver the load of say -20 degree frozen ice cream, the reason I remember those loads were the customers flipped the dock time to midnight and allowed that stuff to come off by forklift in a few minutes and then sent to the store in a hurry. Then I got to sleep the rest of the evening pretty quietly until I am caught up on the sleep deficiet. Nothing but good thoughts. And dispatchers? They just have to wait a little. It wont hurt none.

Nice and calm, orderly situation. No drama. Isnt that nice?

Sounds all peachy, but the reality is the dispatchers throw a hissy an then don't give ya squat for miles. Anyway, lesson learned. And when applying to a company, if the person on the other line sounds like Vladimire Putin, well, I'm just hanging up.

    You are so right.

I for one advocate a salary designed to disregard the influence of miles every week. Once you remove a problem in terms of fighting over miles whats left? Customer service.
