Excellent for people that willing to run teams for 20 or 30 years.
Do package delivery drivers have good benefits?

I don't think it would be 20 or 30 years. Not even close.

    Four? Maybe five?

And the package delivery guys have the same benefits as feeders.

NavigatorWife and De Trucker Thank this.

I'd say that is pretty accurate. Can possibly be even less than 4 years.

    Chinatown and LtlAnonymous Thank this.

Yeah, I just allowed for more because I'm not sure how the board is going to advance from now on. It's not just a matter of waiting for guys to retire.

    De Trucker Thanks this.

I see the brown Freightliner has the name badge removed. I didn't think they still did that anymore. Package delivery is going to soar to outer limits in the future. Our buying will be online, and an army of drivers will bring it right to the door. No more diseased stores, and icky people. I ordered some parts from Amazon for my motorcycle, living in a rural area, a long drive would have resulted, press a couple buttons, here in a few days, even with the crisis. Just as well, going to the store sucks.

was a time way back when, when i wanted to work for UPS, ya had to know someone.

i tried (if i can recall) 4 times to get a job with them. got turned down each time, oh i passed the application process, then the driving tests, then just never got hired. and i always had a good work and driving record, that didn't seem to matter, i didn't "know" anyone to get in....

they can take thier recruitment ads and shove them, this tells me that now they hire anyone with a pulse.....maybe soon to be the "new" Swifties on the roads....

sirhwy, Dale thompson, bzinger and 4 others Thank this.

I hear ya', pal. Just shows how bad this has gotten. Years ago, you NEVER heard of a job opening at Brown, especially TT. You'd start as a handler, and these semi drivers had 30 years in, you never had a chance. Now, they have to beg for drivers?:biggrin_25513:

It's simple demand. The online retail traffic has increased exponentially, so there are only so many word-of-mouth hires you can do.

And believe me, this is just one very large terminal. It is not like this everywhere in the country.
