Might want to share more information. What were you doing, what was your "reported status."...etc.

 

so basically it is a valid ticket, as your HOS was over. Sounds to me need to suck it up and take your slap on the wrist. But I'll leave it up to the more seasoned truckers here to give you their opinion.

 

Wouldn't waste my time fighting that, doubt you get anywhere with it. Pay the fine and move on.

 

It sounds like you fouled up man....lesson learned.

 

Many teams do that and don't get caught.
I've done it. It's a gamble and you're the only person I've heard of that was caught.

At the terminal, I've used the fuel card of one of the mechanics to fuel my truck, to save15 or 30 minutes on my logs. I'd log "off duty", then use his fuel card to fuel and check over the truck.
That ads up over time.
