I've got the strangest situation. I have a desktop for the truck that, when powered on, can apparently interfere with the J1939 bus and keep the cab air controls from functioning when the truck is started. This is both in auto-start, and regular keyed start. This is a 2019 LT with an integrated Eaton 2500W inverter/charger. The bus interference is just a guess, but it makes sense to me.

Yes, bad invertor can create a mess with modern truck electronics.

Does it necessarily have to be a bad inverter to have poor filtering?

EMI suppression is freaky science. Could be bad grounding/bonding, could be poor inverter design, could be faulty components in inverter circuit. J1939 could give you a lot of trouble as well.
    The desktop is computer?
