I use google drive for saving everything.
I use Adobe Fill and Sign for filling out ratecons and carrier packets. Let’s you type anywhere, saves signature and initials. Best part is it remembers things so I put in first 2 letters and it knows what I’m im typing.
I use Microsoft Office Lens to take pictures. Take a picture in bad light or glare, you can change the shade to make it look perfect.
Finally I use InvoiceGenerator to get paid! Super basic to fill in and I save all my invoices in a folder, so I don’t need an app that “saves them for me”.Last edited: Jan 27, 2020

Okay I want to understand when you say you have to have insurance under your own authority that means what? I'm new to this whole thing and what to understand specifically. Also I have 2 questions if I would like to become a licensed freight broker under my husband's MC# can I do that or will I have to file as a company myself and get my own MC#? Also my husband's wants to Dispatch his own loads as well but want type of insurance is needed? Are you talking about a surety bond? What do you mean when you say insurance? -

The way I do it is slower and more paper trail but I do it for a reason. I have a paper back up and an online back up of everything.
1. Lots of brokers have online packets. These are awesome. No paper, no printing. You are gonna need to print rate cons though which leads me to......
2. Get a laptop or at least a printer. I not only have a laptop but I have an inverter in the truck for cooking but also for a printer. I run a $100 laser printer in the truck. It has worked great daily for 2 years.
3. Camera scanner for your phone. I use Adobe Scan. It saves all my stuff to Dropbox. There are lots out there.
I print out carrier agreements, sign and camera scan and email them back with my phone. I do online packets, email and everything else on a laptop for speed and accuracy.
There are a couple of tricks for saving paper like printing on both sides.
Also, I keep a file with my personal carrier packet on my phone and laptop so I can email it at a moment's notice. It has authority letter, insurance, w-9 and a couple of other things like voided check if I'm setting up quick pay.
Try some different things, you'll find what works for you. For me, my truck is my office. Even when I'm at home if I need to do business I go out to the truck where my office is. It's always quiet and organized for the task.dztruck, Brettj3876, PE_T and 1 other person Thank this. -
