Just a little background i work for a trucking co. in Alaska, carlile transportation, been driving for awhile have all endorsements and have run down too the states numerous times solo and team driving. due to some family issues looks like im going to be relocating to southern washington was wondering if anyone can shed some light on the better companys to look for.

Have looked through this forum and its been very resourceful so far on pointing out some things (fleece leases) and companys to look out for

Here is going to be your biggest problem. And I should know I drove for 4 different out fits up there in the Great frozen north. Your driving time up there means nothing. I know, stupid. Driving up there is tougher and requires more skill. But companies only count lower 48 for resent experience. And you will need at least 6 mos. of that. So hear is the catch 22. No experience running in the lower 48, no one wants you. Can't get experience if no one hires you. Not saying that no one will hire you. Just saying that it will be tough. Oh, and many of them will want you to have a WA. lic and address before they will talk with you. Good Luck.

hahaha no not jack or lisa. Though the work is steady and its hard enough to get established with a good company. not really a choice for me and the family we have to move.

Put your cb in your car.
Go to your ports ands rail yards and talk to your O/O and drivers coming out and sees who's hiring. They work on % you get your experince and can move on in a year or 2. Not great money. But you can make 900. a week if you don't mess around. Sorry no benifits. But at least you get your time in!!!

i have a very good friend in the southern washington area and they love there guns, hunting elk and logging trees so its pretty safe down in that area. I actually have a lead on a job running tankers for system in kalama (thank you native dancer) well its called james j williams down there. As a last resort i can work for carlile out of tacoma though it means running back and forth to alaska on the cassiar and that road is bad enough in the summer so thats always an option.
