if i do OTR, can i expect the truck to have appliances such as TV's, refrigerators, microwaves, etc.?

as for a laptop, i'm guessing you gotta buy your own, right?

Expect a company truck to have nothing, not even a CB. Many companies will not even allow the inverters to power those appliances.

TV, fridge, microwave, computer, surround sound, leather sofa, gas log fireplace, washer/dryer.....yep, you'll have all that when you take the wheel of a big rig. and all you have to do is sit and steer.....

As mentioned, you'd be real lucky to get a fridge. No CB, TV or Microwave. Been mentioned by another poster already. Just my .02$

And I'm 99% sure the fridge will be by the leather sofa!

Fridge maybe. Everything else most probably not. Definitely not a computer.

As others have said. Almost nothing is provided in a company truck. The one thing pretty common is an AM/FM stereo, often but not always with a cassette or CD. Anything else you want will likely need to be provided by you. My OTR trucks were well-equipped with CB, TV, electric cooler, 12 volt "oven". If you want any high draw devices like a microwave you will need a 1000-2000 watt power inverted wired directly to the truck batteries. In most cases your company will want any inverter installed by them to assure an amateur job doesn't cause their truck to catch fire.

You can run small inverters, say 100-300 watts, through the cig lighter. This usually doesn't require company approval. However, the company will expect you to abey their policy so pay attention to that if it is different than what you read here.
