I have an 07 Freightliner century with a c15. Ive gone through 5 air compressors in 2 months. I’ve changed the air lines, governor, air dryer filter, and now dampener. Also flushed the coolant system. And ideas what could be knocking the compressors out where they won’t build air.
1st did 4000 miles
2nd 1200 miles
3rd 150 miles
4th 1100 miles
5th 200 miles

Check spitter valve on the air dryer. It maybe stuck open. Also check line from compressor to air dryer for leaks.
-
Put new line on compressor to air dryer
-
Purge valve not leaking air
-
Did you put a new air governor on?
-
First of all are you buying these compressors from the same vendor, second the only thing that makes compressor quit compressing is your unloaders are getting stuck or your piston rings are gone! And of course your governor kicking on and off but you said you replace that!
Also do you have a one-way valve between your compressor and your first tank somewhere sometimes those go bad and they will not let the compressor compress!Bean Jr. Thanks this. -
All compressors from different vendors. What’s baffling me is the different mileage I’m getting out of each one. It’s not consistent. Where would that valve be. We check air flow at each stage from compressor all the way to secondary tank.

Yes I replaced it

Depends on how and why they are failing?
-
That what I’m trying to figure outBean Jr. Thanks this.
