I seldom wait for a load. If I wait too long my DM gets me layover pay, without my asking it.
My experience with being stacked more than one load is it has always ended up falling apart.

I was just informed that freight just tanked, so it will be slim pickings for some time.
It's not like I wasn't expecting it with everything shutting down, but it hit rock bottom very suddenly from what my DM said.FerrissWheel Thanks this. -
Well I know that FFE has stopped hiring and their school for the moment. Their refer division is a lot of restaurants. So with the stay in place. Lot of their loads have slowed down. That is the main deal for their Line Haul.

The corona virus had nothing to do with the reason I turned in my truck on March 4th. That said, I think I lucked out and dodged a bullet.
I accepted a job with First Fleet before I finished my last load with Swift. I took a little time off and started on March 23rd. First Fleet is a dedicated carrier. I'm delivering dairy for Kroger to Frys store in AZ. It's not perfect (I frequently start between midnight and 2:00 am) but I have set days off and am home every day.
I'm thankful for what I learned during my time @ Swift.JOHNQPUBLIC, dptrucker, scottied67 and 3 others Thank this. -
I was sent a pplan earlier that I didn't like very much, so i turned it down.
My load t-called in Indianapolis this afternoon. I got there at around 1400.
The next load was picking up 198 miles away (pplan said 157) at 1800, a live load at a grocery place.
That would have been cutting my 14 very close so I turned it down.
Probably a good thing since my GPS had me getting there at 1756 if I left right then. Late for a live load at one of those places means you wait, and wait.
But now I am sitting here waiting for another pplan.
Oh well.FerrissWheel and dptrucker Thank this. -
